The use case was simple; find the root-cause alarms, in real time in a Chemical Plant with thousands of alarms (yup!!) with a few tens of them buzzing at any moment! The solution was not that straight forward of cource. We developed a system called Rapid Alarm Diagnostics which was jointly patented by Caltech and Chevron Inc.
